About me
As a Lithuanian native speaker, I have lived and worked in Ireland for the last six years. The years I spent in Ireland have given me an invaluable experience to develop my English language skills and have also provided me with an essential insight into the underlying cultures and customs so often required in the provision of quality translations. At the same time I have kept up to date with the cultural and linguistic developments in Lithuania through frequent visits as well as regularly reading magazines, newspapers and books, listening to Lithuanian radio and talking to family and friends.
While growing up in Lithuania, which was a part of the Former Republic of Soviet Union, I have learned and perfected the Russian language since my early childhood. Through thorough studies of Russian literature I acquired an invaluable knowledge of the uniqueness of Russian culture and language.
A BA degree in English Language and Literature from Lithuanian Christian College had helped me to gain great technical skill of both English and Lithuanian languages. In five years at the College I have taken several linguistic courses, such as Stylistic Editing, Written and Oral Translations.
Through my work as a Retail Manager in the past six years in Ireland, I have acquired valuable business management skills, developed my retail marketing experience, and became proficient at different aspect of business legal requirements, Food law and Health and Safety legislations.
Given my experience in a variety fields, I have a good handle in English, Lithuanian or Russian translation.
