FREELANCE WRITER
As a progressive graphic designer based in
Calgary AB, strengths are presented in the areas
of creative writing, print and web design. A primary goal as a graphic
designer, published magazine and web content writer is to be an efficient and
effective communicator on many levels by utilizing a combined visual and
literal approach to connect with the pulse of the public and to facilitate
positive change. Extensive freelance experience involves the following:
advertising; brochures; corporate identity; web design; icon design;
stationary; branding; posters; RRSP Guides; design for financial companies;
annual reports; signage for manufacturing; animation design; medical industry
design; and writing for various industries. I am a Registered Graphic Designer of Ontario (Toronto ON Canada Chapter).

GRAPHIC DESIGN EXPERIENCE - TORONTO
After obtaining an extensive and
varied education in Toronto ON (University of Toronto - B.A. in English and Art; Ontario College of Art and Design - 4 year Communications and Design Diploma; Sheridan College - 1 year post-graduate Computer Animation Program) experience included working with Government,
small business, NGOs and private organizations. Logos, RRSP Guides (English and
French), invitations, manuals, newsletters, business cards, posters, case
studies, brochures and computer applications, were designed for various
organizations. Clients and organizations worked for in Toronto were: City
of Toronto; University of Toronto; International Council for Local
Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI); Mackenzie Financial Corporation; Shiatsu Academy of Tokyo; Deer Park
Design Inc.; Fotowork; Premier’s Council of Ontario; Durham Regional Crime
Stoppers Inc.; Harbourfront Corporation; Colorization Inc.; Studio 88 (Ogilvy
& Mather). I then moved to Calgary AB Canada where my skills as a graphic designer and writer were used in a virtual capacity in the United States and other areas of Canada. Presently, I am training on WordPress and also will be upgrading to the Adobe Master Collection that will give me greater access to Adobe’s complete set of programs.

I am always learning to remain progressive in the industry as a graphic designer. I am a quick learner and a reliable, efficient worker. As well, I am a proficient writer/editor and I’ve written everything from brochures, advertising copy, booklets, web content etc. Software used: Quark
XPress, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Acrobat
Exchange, Acrobat Distiller, Neo Visuals, PC Paint, Font Agent Pro, Painter,
CS2 (InDesign, Adobe Illustrator,
Photoshop) and Macromedia Studio 8. Hardware used: IRIS
(3-D modelling), Jupiter, Images II, VAX, IBM, Packard Bell, Macintosh SE/30,
II, IIsi, IIfx, Quadra 650 and 700, Power Mac 8100/100, 8500, 9500, G4 450, G5,
Hewlett Packard 1320n printer.
