On Point Advocacy-
This, position requires me to call people regarding different political issues that are being debated now in Congress. This is a grassroots’ organization. After a successful interview, I write letters to Congress on the person's behalf either pro or con.  Time is critical when working these projects as senate voting will be taking place in a very short period. Dear Senator Murkowski-

I live here in Anchorage, which is not only a large city but is full of natural beauty as well. We experienced a growth of development in the eighties due to revenue produced by oil. This created jobs and an increase in living a better life style. Because of this, I feel it necessary to voice my opinion concerning the proposed energy bill, which will levy taxes on the oil companies in our country.

I am retired and am in my eighties. I do not drive much but it is necessary for me to routinely see my doctor along with doing the basic errands of daily life such as grocery shopping. I believe that at my age I have enough to worry about without the additional burden of worrying about the poor judgments our government continues to make.

Living in Alaska and benefiting from the oil that is produced right here makes me question our government's desire to be so dependent on other nations. Why would any taxation on our own oil companies be a benefit to us?  It would seem that this would produce undesirable consequences and certainly would not solve our energy problem. Our oil companies must be supported and must be allowed to continue doing their research and exploration, as well as increasing domestic drilling.

It will be by implementing these solutions that will alleviate our problem and not the flawed proposed legislation.  I ask you to vote no on this proposal and instead come into an agreement that will accomplish positive results instead. Please support the American oil industry and decrease our dependence on foreign countries that could care less about our safety, security and our economy. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
