Peter Gladwin
I have been in the
entertainment business since the age of eleven.
My knowledge of music is extensive from the 50’s to the
present, across a broad spectrum of genres.
Starting out as a "DJ" for family and friends. My
first professional Gig (i.e. I got paid) was at age 19.I have been a DJ ever
since and have played every kind of venue, big or small, for every kind of
function you can imagine.
Some four decades later, I am just as excited and
enthusiastic about the Industry, and in particular, about the wonderful world
of Radio, as when I began.
Late 80’s: Started with Beach Music Radio as a presenter and
also handled the Sales and Marketing
Early 90’s: Shared a show on B.R.F.M. with Kevin Potter.
Later had my own show segment Restaurant Round up.
Mid 90’s: Started Vincent Park Radio with Wayne Naylor,
bought him out a few years later.
Late 90’s: Helped put Community Radio Station Link FM on the
air.
Started as the afternoon Drive show host, and then switched
to mid-morning to do a talk show. Also did the sales and marketing.
After leaving Link FM in late 1997 I focused on Vincent Park
Radio, and continued to work with Wayne Naylor, who now owned Audiosport.
Together we have done numerous large and prestigious outdoor events like the
E.L. Show, and The Harbour Festival, as well as many diverse sporting events,
like the Buffalo River Regatta (international event) and the S.A. Swim Champs,
with the likes of Roland Schoeman, Ryk Neetling, Natalie Du Tiot, etc.
I have also been very involved in the planning and execution
of numerous corporate events, Product Launches, Fashion Shows, M.C. work.
I am a very experienced voice over artist and have
conceptualised, written, and voiced many adverts for clients, for flighting on
Link FM Algoa FM and C.K.I. As well as B.T.F.M.
I have also written and voiced numerous scripts for Radvideo
and compiled and presented a workshop to The Arts and Culture Department of The
Eastern Cape, on script writing and voice over techniques.
Besides my Entertainment and Radio experience, I have
extensive Sales and Marketing and Management experience in the Retail field.
(John Orr’s, Garlick’s, Bryant’s.
I am currently lecturing N.C. Versatile Broadcasting at Walter
Sisulu University
in East London and am also the Operations Manager for
CRWSU our internet based radio station.
I have also started vocational training for Alfred Ndzo
Community Radio personal.

to do the same there.

to the Buffalo City Councillors and will shortly be training a group of
Provincial Government people on how to produce short informational programs for
broadcast on various P.B.S. stations countrywide.
