May I indroduce myself?

I am a qualified translator specialising in legal, commercial and international business correspondence translations in German, English and Spanish. I hold German Chamber of Commerce qualifications as a business administrator and bilingual secretary. My  mother tongue is German and my working languages are English and Spanish.

After training to be a business administrator I worked initially in commerce and sales/marketing before completing my studies in translation and interpreting. As an Erasmus exchange student, I studied for one semester at Liverpool John Moores University .

As I worked with accountants and lawyers for several years, I not only contribute my experience of translating English and American contracts, shareholders’ meetings, balance sheets, etc., but also have the relevant specialist knowledge due to my business qualifications and their practical application.

I have been a member of the German association of translators and interpreters (BDÜ) since January 2003. With over 5,000 members, it is the largest professional organisation in this sector.

In summer 2007 I took part in the “Summer School Rechtssprache 2007" a high-level, advanced course in legal translation and interpreting organised by the BDÜ and run by lawyers (predominantly professional judges), and was successful in passing the final examination.
